University of New Mexico Men's Basketball
Wyoming Cowboys vs. New Mexico Lobos

Wyoming head coach Heath Schroyer:
"February home games are huge, they are all big, but obviously when you get to the home stretch of February they are really big. Its frustrating because we were getting better the past couple weeks, but we ran into a really good team that was playing on all cylinders tonight. We just didn't have the fire power to match that. They did a nice job, I thought they were very physical with him and tried to really limit his catches."

New Mexico head coach Steve Alford:
"Needless to say, I don't know if we can play much better. We really put a lot of good things together at both ends of the floor. This has got to be about the eighth time this year we have been below 10 turnovers and several times this year we have been over 20 assists. That was the case again today. We had good balance. J.R. obviously terrific. We were just really active defensively and I thought the job that Jamaal (Smith) and Dairese (Gary) did on Ewing was a huge key to get us going early."

Comments on J.R. Giddens:
"He has been special all year long and is obviously getting a little more aggressive offensively, but I really don't think he forced things. He gets 24 shots tonight and I think only two of them were questionable shots. His teammates are doing a really good job of looking for him and finding him. None of these guys have played with J.R. in this system, so just getting familiar with where you cut, where you screen, where the ball has got to go...and obviously the guys really respect him and know that he is one of the guys that has got to get the ball for us."
