Lobo head coach Don Flanagan:
"Utah did nice job of coming in here in a tough situation. Their kids made nice shots and their scorers scored. They hit the big shots at the end."
"I thought we did a lot of things well. We only had 12 turnovers which was good. We defended well and kept them under 50 points. We switched up our defenses and did pretty well there. I just didn't think we wanted it. We weren't mentally as tough as they were. It showed at the end. We had an opportunity to run time off the clock and get our shot with a three point lead. It disappeared in a hurry. My hat is off to Utah. They looked like the best team in the conference and played better than we did."
"We did do some things well but didn't think we got to the free throw line enough. We did pretty well on their scores. Whipple had 12 points and Warburton had 18 points but a couple of those were off the zone defense."
Lobo junior Amy Beggin:
On the game:
"It felt like we had all the momentum up until the very end. Utah stole it away and it is amazing how fast a game can change. I guess they just wanted it more at the end. That is the third time in a row that our lead has slipped away at the end."
Lobo senior Angela Hartill:
What can the team take away from this game:
"We have to fight for the full 40 minutes. We have to know where their shooters are at all times. We didn't get our hands up today so they got open looks and hit them. I don't think it was a mental breakdown today. We were all motivated and pumped up because we wanted them. It is one of those small little errors that happens during games. We didn't find the shooters in transition and that is how they got their last two big shots."
