Against Texas Tech: The Lobos beat Texas Tech, 7-3, in Game One of the 2008 four-game series. The Red Raiders lead the series 54-14-1. Games Three and Four will be in Lubbock on April 8-9.

Up Next: The Lobos begin Mountain West Conference action this week when UNLV comes to Isotopes Park on March 14-16.


• Playing Against The Best ... The Lobos will faced two nationally-ranked opponents last week when they faced #4/#1 Arizona State in two games in Tempe and #18/#26 California on the final day of the Metrodome Tournament in Minneapolis.

• The Hit Parade ... The Lobos are averaging 11.69 hits per game over the first 13 games of the season. 12 Lobos have recorded at least one multi-hit game this season, led by senior Matt Hibbitts with eight and true freshman Rafael Neda with seven. Hibbitts, along with Scott Gracey, also has the longest current hitting streak at four games.

• Hollick Back ... Senior third baseman Ian Hollick made his first start of the season on Tuesday, March 4. Hollick played sparingly over five games while recovering from wrist surgery. After breaking back into the starting lineup, Hollick has started 165 games in a Lobo uniform and played in 175.

RED CROSS UNIT ... Junior center fielder Max Willett broke his hand against Northern Iowa on March 8 when he was hit by a pitch and is expected to miss most of the season. Senior third baseman Ian Hollick has returned to action following wrist surgery in early February.
