Against New Mexico State: The Lobos hold a 142-72 series lead in the oldest rivalry in school history against New Mexico State. Scores go back to 1948 for the series. More recently, the Lobos 6-2 over the past two seasons, winning their last four appearances in Las Cruces. The series will continue on March 25 and 26 in Albuquerque.

Up Next: The Lobos continue league play with a three-game MWC series at TCU, March 20-22. Game times in Fort Worth are 5:30, 5:30 and 12 (MDT).


• Rio Grande Rivalry ... The Lobo baseball team has the opportunity to pick up 1.5 points for UNM in the 2007-08 Rio Grande Rivalry on Tuesday, March 18. Each game of the doubleheader with NMSU is worth .75 points. UNM holds a 10.5-6 lead in the rivalry.

• The Hit Parade ... The Lobos are averaging 11.88 hits per game on the season and remains among the top teams in the MWC in the primary hitting categories. 15 Lobos have recorded at least one multi-hit game this season, led by true freshman Rafael Neda with ten and senior Matt Hibbitts with nine. Neda and junior Mike Brownstein have the longest current hitting streaks at five games apiece.

• Moore Is More ... Junior Bobby Moore made the most of his first three starts of the season in right field against UNLV over the weekend. Moore hit .800 for the three-game series, 8 of 10 from the plate, scored four runs, hit three doubles and two triples, walked three times and no strikeouts. Moore was moved to the outfield from his usual bullpen position due to an injury to center fielder Max Willett.
