ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. --- The 2008-09 New Mexico women's basketball schedule is officially complete after the Mountain West Conference released its schedules today. The Lobos are slated to play 16 conference games and will open MWC action on January 7 at home against UNLV. UNM will have six nationally-televised games this season including four on the Mountain Network and two on the CBS College Sports Network.
"We always want the opportunity to be on national television," said UNM head coach Don Flanagan. "Having six home games is a big advantage for our fans and recruits. This will give us a chance to showcase our crowds, the atmosphere and our arena."
The MWC schedule kicks off with the Rebels in Albuquerque on Jan. 7 before the Lobos travel to Colorado Springs, Colo., to face Air Force on Jan. 10. The Lobos play at BYU on Jan. 17 then return home to host San Diego State on Jan. 21.
