LAS VEGAS (AP) - Sherry McCracklin grabbed an offensive rebound and scored with 23 seconds left to give UNLV a 65-63 win over No. 21 New Mexico on Thursday night.
New Mexico trailed by as many as 11 points in the second half before Judy Vogt made a 3-pointer to tie it at 63 with 53 seconds left. The Lobos (20-8, 10-5 Mountain West Conference) are 4-4 in their last eight games.
The Lady Rebels (17-9, 9-6) had a 62-58 lead with 2:31 remaining, but missed four of five free throws during the next 1:10.
Dionne Marsh's layup got the Lobos within 62-60 with 1:41 left but UNLV's Sheena Moore made the second of two free throws to make it 63-60 with 1:21 left.
Moore, who scored five of the Lady Rebels' last seven points, led UNLV with 15 points. Sequoia Holmes and Nikki Hitchens each scored 12 for the Lady Rebels, who have won four of five.
Vogt and Marsh led the Lobos with 13 points apiece while Abbie Letz had 12 points and nine rebounds. Vogt missed a jumper at the buzzer.
