Women's Soccer Remains Undefeated in MWC Competition with 1-0 Victory at Air Force

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.---The University of New Mexico women's soccer team recorded their seventh straight victory as they defeated Air Force 1-0 in double overtime. The No. 17 Lobos improved to 11-1-3 on the season and 5-0 in Mountain West Conference action with the win.

Senior Rachel Fields secured the win for the Lobos when she received a cross from freshman Brooke Ellison as her shot deflected off the Falcon goalkeeper. The goal was Fields fifth of the season.

New Mexico out shot Air Force 21-6 with 17 of the Lobo shots coming in regulation. The Lobo defense did not allow the Falcons to take a single shot in either overtime period. UNM recorded their 11th shutout of the season and goalkeeper Kelli Cornell had two saves in the match.

The Lobos have two MWC games remaining before the conference tournament in San Diego, Calif. Nov. 4-7. New Mexico returns to competition Sunday as the squad travels to Wyoming for a 1 p.m. contest in Laramie, Wyo.
