The Lobo Nordic Ski Team got off to a good start at the NorAM FIS meet in West Yellowstone, Mont. Friday. The men were led by freshmen Geir-Endre Rogn and Dirk Grimm who finished 7th and 9th, respectively. Freshman Jedd Young also had a solid showing, placing 23rd. Senior Jacob Zehnder rounded out the Lobo racers with a 61st place finish. Sophomore Trine Lundamo was the only member of the women's team racing and she also had a solid performance.

The Lobos use this race as a tune-up for the collegiate season that begins in January 2004. UNM was racing against U.S. and Canadian Ski Team members, as well as skiers form other Universities. Rogn and Grimm placed 1st and 2nd among the collegiate skiers, finishing behind only members of the U.S. Ski Team.

Saturday, November 29, the Lobos will compete in Sprint races to finish the weekend meet.
