    Television, Live Stats, Audio, and Video ... All 11 games of the tournament will be telecast on The Mtn. Sports Network. James Bates, Roger Bailey and Todd Christensen will call the action for The Mtn. The Mtn. is available on Comcast Channell 276 in the Albuquerque area.

    So Who Do We Play? ... The Lobos earned the No. 2 seed in the 2008 Phillips 66 Mountain West Conference Baseball Tournament and earned a bye. UNM will play its first game of the tournament on Wednesday, May 21, at 2 p.m. (MDT) against the highest seeded winner from Tuesday's first round games.

    Tournament Seeding ... 1. TCU (19-5) ... 2. New Mexico (16-8) ... 3. San Diego State (16-8) ... 4. BYU (10-14) ... 5. Utah (10-14) ... 6. UNLV (9-15). Air Force finished the season 4-20 in conference play.

    LOBO BASEBALL MWC TOURNAMENT QUICK HITS

    • The last time New Mexico was the No. 2 seed was the 2004 MWC Tournament. The Lobos ended up one game short of the championship game.

    • It is only the third time in league tournament history that the Lobos have been the No. 1 or No. 2 seed. UNM was the No. 1 seed in 2000.

    • The Lobos have never made the MWC Tournament Championship game in the league's 8-year history.

    • The Lobos have had five players named to the MWC All-Tournament Team: Mark Okano (2000), Josh Mader (2004), Chris Carlson (2005, 2006), Danny Ray Herrera (2006), and Bobby LaFromboise (2007).

    2008 PHILLIPS 66 MOUNTAIN WEST CONFERENCE BASEBALL TOURNAMENT ... The tournament will run from May 20-24 at Lupton Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas ... All 11 games of the double-elimination tournament will be telecast on The Mountain Sports Network (The Mtn. - Comcast Channel 276 in Albuquerque) ... The 2008 All-Mountain West Conference teams and specialty awards will be announced at the tournament banquet on Monday night, May 19, in Fort Worth ... Tournament winner earns the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament ... The NCAA Bracket will be announced at 10:30 a.m. (MDT) on Monday, May 26, on ESPN.

    NEW MEXICO AT A GLANCE (32-23, 16-8 MWC) ... The Lobos finished the regular season tied for second place with San Diego State ... UNM received votes in the USA Today Coaches Poll for the third time this season on April 21 and holds an official NCAA RPI of 72 going into the TCU series ... The Lobos have put together two seven-game winning streaks this season - Feb. 22-March 1 and March 26-April 5 ... UNM is among the MWC leaders in several offensive categories, batting average, runs scored, hits and RBI, to name a few, and in fielding percentage ... In league games, the Lobos are leaders in batting average, slugging percentage, and on-base percentage ... Junior Brian Cavazos-Galvez leads the team in batting with a .371 average ... The right side of the infield, first baseman Kevin Atkinson and second baseman Mike Brownstein, has started every game for the Lobos in 2008 ... True freshman Rafael Neda is having a solid season, hitting .324 and starting 46 games for UNM, 36 starts at catcher ... The pitching rotation is led by seniors Bobby LaFromboise, Jacob Norton and Stephen Smith ... Norton became the Lobos first 6-game winner on May 10 at UNLV ... LaFromboise leads the team in strikeouts with 58, followed by Smith with 50 ... Closer Clinton Cox leads the Lobo pitching staff with 24 appearances and 3 saves ... John Hesketh and Will Kerr have been solid mid-week starters against some of the toughest teams in the country ... With the end of mid-week games, Hesketh and Kerr have moved back to the bullpen and may see some spot starts ... Kerr and Daniel Grubbs have provided solid middle relief to set-up Cox.
