OPELIKA, Ala. - The No. 18 New Mexico women's golf team moved up two places to 14th after two rounds at the NCAA Preview hosted by Auburn University. The Lobos have a combined score of 615 (310-305) after day two, improving their team score by five strokes in the second day of action. UNM is 34 shots off the pace of Arizona, who currently lead with a 581 (289-292).
Freshman Ashley Rollins (Austin, Texas) and junior Kailin Downs (Bend, Ore.) each fired a 75 in the second round to lead UNM. Rollins is currently tied for 23rd place (74-74=149). Downs jumped 20 spots to tie for 63rd after her eight-stroke improvement (83-75=158).
The NCAA Preview wraps up tomorrow afternoon (Sunday, Sept. 14).
