Lobos Earn 16 Outdoor All-Mountain West Selections

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Sixteen University of New Mexico track and field athletes were selected to the Mountain West Outdoor Track & Field All-Conference men's and women's teams on Tuesday. All-MW selections are awarded to the top three finishers in each event.

For the men, nine Lobos earned individual all-conference honors, while one relay team was also recognized. This is the third straight year the men have received at least 10 total selections.

Conference champions Beejay Lee (100-meter, 200, 4x100 relay) and Sam Evans (1,500) headed the group for their victories in the 200 and 1,500 meters, respectively.

Also named were Nicholas Kipruto (10,000), Django Lovett (High Jump), Logan Pflibsen (Pole Vault), Floyd Ross (Triple Jump), Kendall Spencer (Long Jump, 4x100), Sean Stam (10,000), Lamaar Thomas (4x100), De'Vron Walker (4x100), and Richard York (Decathlon).

Nathalie Busk (Pole Vault), Shirley Pitts (400-meter), Marin Schweigert (High Jump), Precious Selmon (100-meter Hurdles), Ruth Senior (10,000-meter), and Sarah Waldron (5,000-meter) were selected on the women's side.
