The Lobos will close out the exhibition season on Tuesday, November 8, against Metro State at 7:00 p.m. at The Pit. UNM is coming off a 75-48 exhibition win over Fort Lewis College, while the Roadrunners lost an 88-82 overtime decision to Denver. The regular season for the Lobos is Friday night with the opening round of the WNIT against Oral Roberts.
TONIGHT'S GAME: Tonight's game features the Lobos of the University of New Mexico against the Roadrunners of Metropolitan State College of Denver in an exhibition game.
SCOUTING THE LOBOS: UNM is 1-0 in the exhibition season with a 75-48 win over Fort Lewis College. New Mexico was led by junior Katie Montgomery with 16 points. The Lobos are coming off the best season in school history as they were 26-5 in 2004-05. UNM won their second consecutive regular season MWC title and third straight MWC Tournament championship. New Mexico returns three starter and 10 letterwinners from 2004-05.
SCOUTING THE ROADRUNNERS: Metro State is 0-1 in the exhibition season with a tough 88-82 loss in overtime to Denver. The Roadrunners were led by Stacey Cox with 21 points and anielle Ellerington with 18 points and nine rebounds. Last season Metro State was 24-7 and won the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament Championship.
THE COACHES: UNM is led by head coach Don Flanagan who enters his 11th season at New Mexico. Flanagan is 217-94 at UNM. The Roadrunners are led by Dave Murphy who is in his fourth season at Metro State and sixth season overall. Murphy is 49-38 at Metro State and 84-58 overall.
