NEW MEXICO: Outstanding returning starter at defensive end who was a 2003 watch list selection for the Rotary Lombardi Trophy (oustanding lineman)...probably the most athletic of the defensive linemen...lightning quick off the ball and excels at collapsing the pass pocket...demands blocking attention, often double-team help, at all times...his presence frees up his teammates to make plays...is improving his lateral movement and run defense...a high-motor, high-intensity kid who loves to play and is working to become more consistent in practice...34 career games with 17 starts...UNM active leader with 14.5 career sacks.

2003 (SENIOR): Leads the MWC with 6 sacks (all solo) in 9 games, mostly off the bench...21 tackles on the year with 9 TFLs for -42 yards...also has 3 fumbles forced (T1st MWC) and a fumble recovery...4 starts on the year when UNM has opened in its 4-lineman "heavy" formation...Colorado State...Most tackles in 5 games, finishing with 4 solo stops in 51 plays...did a good job of pressuring CSU QB Bradlee Van Pelt throughout the night, notching a 5-yard sack and a QB hurry...sack forced the Rams to settle for a field goal on a critical 3rd-and-7 play from the UNM 12-yard line in the 3rd quarter...just missed on his first sack opportunity of the game when the evasive Van Pelt spun out of his grasp in the 1st quarter...Utah...Good effort, notching a sack and forced fumble on his only tackle of the day...also had a QB hurry in 22 plays...Utah State...Wasted no time making his presence felt, sacking and stripping the USU QB on the Aggies' first play of the game...fourth straight game with a sack...was not credited for another tackle, but had the Aggie QBs on the run much of the evening...made his second start of the year in the Lobos' 4-3-4 alignment...New Mexico State...Strong outing with 6 tackles (3 solo), two tackles for loss and a sack for the third straight game...also forced and recovered a fumble when he blew up an Aggie option play...made his first start of the year as UNM opened with a 4-3-4 alignment...Washington State...Had his best performance of the early season against the giant WSU offense line...finished with 4 tackles (1.5 for loss) and a 7-yard sack in 44 plays off the bench...also broke up a pass and had a QB hurry, folding the Cougar pocket with his relentless pressure...helped the Lobo defensive front limit the Cougars to 87 rushing yards, 95.3 under their season average, and force 5 sacks in an impressive performance...BYU...Pair of tackles and a 6-yard sack.

2002(JUNIOR): Earned first team all-league by the Las Vegas Review Journal and second team all-Mountain West Conference honors and was selected by his teammates for the Chuck Cummings Memorial Award for morale and spirit at the UNM football banquet...53 tackles led all defensive linemen and was 6th on the team...led the Lobos' MWC-leading sack unit with 7, which was 2nd in the league...also 2nd with 16 tackles for loss (-59 yards)...added a pair of safeties and 3 pass deflections on the year...UCLA (Las Vegas Bowl)...turned in a stellar game off the bench, matching his career-high with 7 tackles, including 2 for losses of 8 yards...helped the Lobo defense hold the Bruins to just 167 yards, 206 below their season average, and one offensive touchdown...Wyoming...came off the bench to notch a pair of tackles and was also in on one of the Lobos' 9 sacks on the day...Colorado State...led the defensive effort up front with 5 tackles (3 solo), a forced fumble and had a pass deflection...helped limit CSU's Cecil Sapp, the MWC's leading-rusher, to just 36 yards (2.6 ypc) on the night...BYU...lone tackle was a pad-popping stick of BYU RB Curtis Brown for a 4-yard loss in the backfield...applied strong pressure throughout the game, flushing Cougar quarterbacks from the pocket several times...San Diego State...did a fine job of pressuring QB Adam Hall, helping keep the SDSU passing attack to 180 yards below its average...finished with 4 tackles, including 3 solo stops, and 2 tackles for loss...Utah...5 tackles (2 solo), including 1 for loss, and a pass deflection in an energetic 78 snaps...most stops in 4 games...Utah State...lone tackle in 29 plays was a 10-yard sack...UNLV...two tackles, including a key sack of Rebel QB Kurt Nantkes in the endzone to seal the Lobos' victory late in the fourth quarter...did not start for the first time this season after turning his ankle a few days earlier in practice...Texas Tech...only 2 tackles were both sacks of Kliff Kingsbury...officially credited with 1.5 sacks on the night...New Mexico State...matched career-high with 7 tackles, including 1 for loss...50 plays...Weber State...outstanding effort, logging career-high 7 tackles and 3 sacks...4 of his 7 tackles were combined for a loss of 25 yards...N.C.
