LARAMIE, Wyo.---The University of New Mexico women's soccer team tied Wyoming 1-1 today in their third consecutive double overtime game. Lobo junior Jael Fanning scored her second goal of the season as the squad continued their conference run. UNM is now 11-1-4 on the season and 5-0-1 in Mountain West Conference play.

New Mexico claimed a guaranteed share of the Mountain West Conference title with the tie and secured the top seed heading into the conference tournament which will take place Nov. 3-6 in San Diego, Calif.

The Lobos took an early lead as Fanning kicked a through ball past the defense and shot past the Cowgirl keeper 15 minutes into the game. New Mexico took five other shots in the first half but were unable to place another shot in front of the net.

Wyoming leveled the score as Wyoming's Liz O'Reilly scored off of a penalty kick in the 82nd minute of competition. Lobo goalkeeper Kelli Cornell, who has only allowed five goals in 16 games, was credited with six saves.

The game extended the Lobos' current unbeaten streak to 7-0-2, setting a school record with nine games. Their MWC record of 5-0-1 ties the school record for an unbeaten streak in conference competition.
