University of New Mexico men's soccer head coach Jeremy Fishbein announced the addition of Gabe Hall to the Lobo coaching staff today. Hall will serve as a volunteer assistant for the Lobo men's soccer program for the upcoming season. He joins the Lobos after spending last year as an assistant coach at the University of Indianapolis.
"We are very excited to add someone of Gabe's knowledge and experience to our staff," stated Fishbein. "Whether it is training our keepers or working with our program in general, he will certainly be a valued asset."
Hall served as the goalkeeper coach for both the men's and women's Greyhound teams in 2007. He also assisted with planning and running training sessions, player development and game day preparation. Hall was also involved in all aspects of recruiting, fundraising and alumni relations at the University of Indianapolis.
Hall served as an assistant men's soccer coach at the University of Southern Indiana (Evansville, Ind.) prior to his stint at UIndy. He was also the netminder specialist for the Screaming Eagles, and assisted in all aspects of running the program. While in Evansville, Hall also planned and ran training for the Evansville Elite U-15 boy's team.
Hall has also had coaching stints at Riordan High School (San Francisco, Cal.), with the West Michigan Edge Y-League, the Hoosier Heat (Avon, Ind.) and the Brownsburg (Ind.) Soccer Club. Hall specialized in training goalkeepers with all of these teams.
In addition to his coaching experience, Hall has also been active in many soccer camps throughout his career. He served as the senior goalkeeper staff coach for SoccerPlus Camps, and has previously worked with Mac's National Soccer School and the Midwest Soccer Camp.
During his playing career, Hall was a two-year starting goalkeeper with the West Michigan Edge of the United Soccer League. He played two years for San Francisco State University, serving as a two-year starting goalkeeper and a two-year captain. While serving as the Gator netminder, Hall was an All-California Collegiate Athletic Association selection. Prior to transferring to San Francisco State, Hall was a two-year starting goalkeeper for UIndy.
Hall received his Bachelor's of Science in Business Administration from San Francisco State.
