ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - New Mexico women's soccer announces its spring scheduled today that is highlighted by three NCAA tournament teams. The Lobos are coming of their second consecutive winning season and reached the semifinals of the Mountain West Conference Championship. After the loss of seven seniors, Head Coach Kit Vela leads a young but talented group into a strong off-season schedule.
The Lobos open the spring at home against West Texas A&M on April 7 at 2 p.m. WTAMU is coming off a 14-4-1 season and made the NCAA Regional Tournament. The game will be the only opportunity for UNM fans to see the women's soccer team on their home turf.
The following weekend, UNM will travel to Colorado Springs, Colo., to face two NCAA qualifiers in Colorado College (15-6-1) and Denver (19-3-1) on April 14-15. The Lobos open play on Saturday at 1 p.m. against the Tigers. Sunday will feature a neutral game between UNM and the Pioneers at 11 a.m. the games will be played at Stewart Field.
The final game of the spring is on April 22 at Northern Arizona (7-10-1) but the time has not been announced. For more information about UNM athletics visit www.GoLobos.com.
