SENIOR DEFENSIVE END Zach Rupp
Question: How important is this game to the team?
Zach Rupp: "This is a huge game because we know that basically both us and Colorado State have our backs up against the wall for bowl games. We're going to come out and leave everything on the field."
Q: How eager are you to get back on the field after the disappointing loss to UNLV?
ZR: "We're real anxious. We have a shorter week so we can get out there a little earlier and show everyone that we are still a good team."
Q: If there was a game to be played on a Friday night with national TV, then this is probably the game to have, especially after last week, right?
ZR: "This is definitely a good game to have on TV. Colorado State is always a good team to play and they are always a top contender in the Mountain West. This is going to be a good game because I feel that we can beat them and hopefully we can get our status moved up a little bit."
Q: You personally have seemed to hit your stride. You're leading the conference in tackles for loss. Are you just in a flow or have you been working on something specific that has allowed you to do this well?
ZR: "I think that I've gotten into a rhythm. Hopefully it keeps up. We're watching a lot of film and getting well prepared for the games. The coaches have a great game plan for us. As long as they keep getting us ready and we go out, do our job and give 100 percent on the field, then good things will happen for us."
Q: What about the Red Menace? Do they help motivate you guys at all?
ZR: "The Red Menace are awesome. When we look over at them during a TV timeout, they have their wigs on and are going crazy at every single game whether we are winning or losing. It doesn't really matter to them. They're there relentlessly and putting in as much effort as we are. We have a good fan base and we appreciate it."
