ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Lobo freshman Carl Ho defeated NAU's Andrew Reiff 6-1,6-3, today at the Balloon Fiesta Invite finals. It was Ho's fourth win of the weekend.

"I played pretty good today. The first set I controlled the match a lot, and the second set, my opponent started looping the ball, but I weathered the storm and dictated the ball where I wanted to hit the ball." Ho said.

"Since I have been here I have been implementing the things Coach Alan (Dils) and Coach Bart (Scott) have been telling me to do, like coming to the net, being aggressive, and playing to win," Ho continued.

Ho defeated Marek Ondruj from New Mexico Military Institute, 6-1, 6-2, in the quarterfinals and Air Force's Cody Hall in the semifinals, 6-3, 6-1 yesterday to advance to the finals.

Fellow newcomers Andrew Archer and Matthew Neeld also notched consolation round wins. Archer defeated Western New Mexico's Emmanuel Hecher 7-5, 6-2, while Neeld defeated Justin Romero of New Mexico Military Institute, 9-7.

The Lobos continue fall play with the ITA Fall Regional in Las Vegas, Nev., from Oct. 15-19.
