Nordic Team Gets Three More Top-10's

The University of New Mexico Nordic Ski team continued to impress at the U.S. Nationals in Rumford, Maine, on Monday with three skiers finishing in the top-10. Junior Lena Jensen had the highest finish among Lobo skiers with a sixth place showing in the women's 5K Classic.

Junior Martina Stursova followed up her win in the women's 15K Classic race on Saturday with a seventh place finish in Monday's 5K Classic event. Jensen and Stursova finished 2-3 among collegiate skiers on Monday. Also racing for the Lobo women on were juniors Pirkko Pulkkanen, who placed 55th, and Andrea Roberts, who finished 78th out of 171 racers.

On the men's side, freshman Geir-Endre Rogn led the Lobos with a ninth place finish in the 10K Classic. Rogn was the first collegiate skier to cross the finish line. Fellow freshman Dirk Grimm placed 25th overall and fifth among collegiate skiers. A total of 268 racers took part in the men's 15K Classic on Monday.
