Game 11 notes vs. Wyoming (11/10/12)


-New Mexico game captains for Saturday's game and for the rest of the season are RB Kasey Carrier, LB Joe Stoner and DT Ugo Uzodinma.
-UNM's four-game losing streak is its first since opening the 2011 season with an 0-9 record.
-QB Cole Gautsche's 52-yard pass to WR Ty Kirk in the third quarter was the longest pass play of the season for UNM.
-Saturday's game was the first this season in which both the Lobos and their opponent were held scoreless in the first quarter.
-The Lobos rushed for more than 300 yards for the eighth straight game and the ninth of the season, tying the 1971 team for most 300-yard rushing games in a single season.
-UNM had a season high in total yards (551) and passing yards (155). UNM's total offense was the most since it had 528 vs. Sam Houston State in 2011.
-The Lobos scored their 30th rushing TD of the season in the fourth quarter, moving into sole possession of third place for most rushing TDs in a season.


-QB Cole Gautsche threw a career-long 44-yard pass to WR Ty Kirk in the first quarter. He later threw another career long to Kirk, a 52-yarder for a touchdown in the third quarter. Gautsche threw his first TD pass of the season, a 7-yarder to TE Andrew Aho, with 12:46 left in the second quarter. Gautsche established a season-high in completions with four in the first half alone. Gautsche threw and ran for more than 100 yards, becoming the first Lobo QB to accomplish that feat since Kole McKamey had 103 rushing yards and 218 passing yards vs. BYU in 2005. He had a career high in rushing yards with 149.
-WR Ty Kirk's 102 receiving yards were the most by a Lobo this season. He moved up two spots to No. 13 on UNM's all-time receiving yards list, surpassing Martinez Williams (1996-99) and Manley Woods (1990-94).
-RB Kasey Carrier moved into third place on UNM's single-season rushing list, surpassing Mike Williams' 1,240 yards in 1976. He scored his 14th rushing TD of the season in the fourth quarter, which tied Stoney Case (1993) and DonTrell Moore (2005) for second all-time in school history. Carrier also had a season high in receiving yards with 32.
-Gautsche and Carrier each rushed for more than 100 yards for the second time this season (first time vs. Hawai'i).
-TE Andrew Aho's first reception of the season was a 7-yard TD pass from QB Cole Gautsche in the second quarter.
-RB Jhurell Pressley's 40-yard run to start the third quarter was a career-long.
-WR Carlos Wiggins' 25-yard run in the third quarter was his career-long.
-WR Ty Kirk's 18-yard run in the third quarter was a career best.


-LB Javarie Johnson's first-quarter sack gave him 3.5 sacks on the season. He had two tackles for loss in the first half.
-LB Dallas Bollema's second-quarter sack was his first this season.
-DE Jacori Greer's third-quarter sack was his team-leading fifth of the season and he has a team-leading 8 TFLs on the season.

Special Teams:

-K Justus Adams converted his 35th consecutive extra point of the season in the third quarter.
-P Ben Skaer's 69-yard punt in the second quarter was his 11th of 50 or more this season, setting a new career-high. That 69-yard punt was also a career long.
