ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. --- University of New Mexico men's tennis junior Miles Bugby won two matches on Saturday (Oct. 6) to advance to the championship match. In the quarterfinals, Bugby won against Alejandro De Mucha (5-7, 6-3, 6-1) from New Mexico State. In the semifinal, Eduardo Salas, also from NMSU, gave Bugby a battle. Bugby won the first set 7-6, and then came from behind to win the second set 6-4 to advance to the finals against another NMSU Aggie Jim Brouleau.
In doubles, Wood and Lynch lost their quarterfinal match against Chris Arena and Bradely Bristow from Northern Arizona (8-3). Both Wood and Lynch are finished for the tournament in both doubles and singles. Bugby's final match will be on Sunday (Oct. 7).
The doubles finals will follow semifinal rounds and then followed by singles finals are set for Sunday starting at 9 a.m.
