There were many different Lobos that had a hand in a big two-game homestand sweep of TCU and #9 BYU, but right in the middle of it was Drew Gordon.

Today, the Mountain West Conference named Gordon co-Player of the Week, sharing the award with Colorado State senior forward Andy Ogide. This is the second career weekly accolade for Ogide and first for Gordon.

Gordon, the preseason MWC Newcomer of the Year, registered back-to-back double-doubles last week as the Lobos posted wins over TCU and No. 9 BYU. The San Jose, Calif., product was 6-of-9 from the field in a 71-46 decision against the Horned Frogs, tallying 12 points, 11 rebounds and two blocked shots in the contest.

Against the Cougars, Gordon hit 7-of-11 field attempts and a free throw for 15 points as New Mexico rallied from a 13-point second-half deficit for the 86-77 victory. He also grabbed 12 rebounds and blocked two shots.

For the week, Gordon averaged 13.5 points, 11.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game while shooting 65 percent (13-of-20) from the field and 50 percent (1-of-2) from the free throw line.

Gordon has been a force for the Lobos since coming into the lineup for Steve Alford. He has recorded six double-doubles in the last eight games, and he leads the Lobos in scoring (13.7) and rebounding (11.3) in Mountain West games only.

The conference honor is the first this season for the Lobos, who saw four players: Darington Hobson, A.J. Hardeman, Roman Martinez, and Dairese Gary, all earned MWC Player of the Week honors last year.

Ogide averaged 21.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.0 block and 1.0 steal last week while helping the Rams to wins over Air Force and Utah. In a 69-66 victory against the Falcons, Ogide converted 7-of-8 attempts from the field to finish with 15 points and two rebounds.

The Marietta, Ga., native followed that performance with a career-high 28 po ints, 10 rebounds, two assists and two blocked shots in a 74-68 win at Utah, going 10-of-17 from the field, including 3-of-4 from 3-point range, and 5-of-6 from the free throw line.

For the week, Ogide shot 68.0 percent (17-of-25) from the field, 80.0 percent (4-of-5) from behind the arc and 83.3 percent (5-of-6) at the foul line.
