ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - New Mexico junior Kalin Downs and UNLV sophomore Sunny Oh have been named Mountain West Conference Women's Co-Golfers of the Month for February.
Downs, a Bend, Ore., native, climbed four spots in the final round of the Northrup Grumman Regional Challenge at the Palos Verdes Golf Course in Palos Verdes, Calif., to finish tied for fourth place. After firing a one-under 70 in the first round, she fell back to eighth position on day two with a seven-over 78. On the final 18 holes, Downs shot a two-over 73 to finish the tournament with an eight-over 221. Oh, a product of Seoul, Korea, helped UNLV to a fifth-place team finish at the Wildcat Invitational held on the Arizona National Golf Course in Tucson, Ariz. The Rebels faced a field that included seven Top 25 teams and finished ahead of four of them.
