I will be dedicating the next few blog posts to our graduating seniors. Liz Lambert, Kate Wyrick, Kerrin Stephan and Rachel Fields have been outstanding teammates and role models for all of the underclassman. The commitment they have shown over the past four years has been nothing but enthusiastic and dedicated. I have asked an underclassman to write about each of the senior girls to reflect on their time at the University of New Mexico, and write a little bit about what being a Lobo means to them.
Katherine Wyrick also known as Kate, Kater, and Kathy. She's funny. She's witty. She's silly. She's pretty. Kate is the kind of person that everyone loves to hang around. When you are feeling down she knows how to put a smile on your face. She works hard on and off the field and she will never give up on anything. Kate is a great leader on our team and she is leading us through a great season. She always has fun on the field, but she is very serious about the game. Kate is an unbelievable soccer player and if you give her any sort of time she will make you pay. Her shot is amazing; her work ethic is even better. She creates great plays and makes her teammates look good. She gets us pumped up before games and keeps the energy alive when things begin to get tough. Kate is such an inspiration to the youth in the soccer community and after the game she has many younger girls surrounding her asking for her autograph. Kate is a key player on this team and she will be greatly missed on the field next year.
