University of New Mexico men's soccer incoming freshman Michael Green was added to the U.S. Under-20 Men's National Team for the upcoming 2008 Milk Cup. Green is one of 18 players head coach Thomas Rongen picked to make the trip to the Northern Ireland tournament.

Green will be joining the team for his first-ever National Team camp, after he was spotted by Rongen at the Development Academy Finals, where he was playing with the Columbus Crew Academy squad that finished in third place.

"It is a great honor and opportunity for Michael," stated UNM head coach Jeremy Fishbein. "He has been playing some of the best soccer of his life lately and he is getting noticed. It is always good exposure for our program when guys get national team experience."

Green is the 2007 Ohio High School Player of the Year and one of the Lobos' 11 incoming players for the 2008 season. A NSCAA High School and Youth All-American, Green is expected to be an impact player for the Lobos in the fall.
