Amy Beggin Named MWC Player Of The Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - New Mexico junior Amy Beggin has been named the Mountain West Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

Beggin averaged 22.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game last week and helped New Mexico pick up wins over North Texas (66-63) and Texas Tech (63-54). Beggin had seven assists in the Lobos' come-from-behind victory over North Texas. She had 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting (63.6 percent), including 3-of-5 (60 percent) from three-point range, in addition to pulling down four rebounds. Beggin went on to score a career-high 27 points against the Lady Raiders on 8-of-15 shooting (53.3 percent) from the field. The Maplewood, Minn., native tied a career high with six three-pointers in the game and hit five of her six free throw attempts, while also adding five rebounds.

This marks Beggin's second weekly honor of the season.
