Hellllllo Lobo Volleyball Fans!

What an exciting weekend that was. Utah and BYU just didn't know what was coming. For all of you that didn't hear, on Thursday we beat Utah in four games. After losing the first game by only two points, we knew that just a little extra effort would have gotten us the win and we were prepared to do that in the following games. After winning the second game, we never looked back and finished in four. As a senior, this was so cool, because not only did we beat them at home, but we also beat them in Utah, which is something that has never happened since I have been here.

Speaking of being a senior...after beating Utah (again!) we looked on to BYU for Senior Night. This was a really emotional day for me. I had spent the morning with my family that came form all over the country to see us play and I was in a little bit of a sad mood because this was going to be the last time that they ever got to see me play. My mood picked right up when I saw my team though. They had decorated our locker room with balloons, signs, cards, presents, ribbons, everything you can imagine to show the seniors how much they support us and love us. I couldn't help but be in a better mood. I love these girls.

Before I knew it, it was game time...the last time my hometown crowd would ever see me play. Man, did we put on a show!!! Not only did we never give those BYU Cougars the lead so they had any chance of winning, but we did it in front of 2,600 people. Included in the huge crowd were one hundred of my friends, family members, and elementary school students all wearing black shirts to show their support for me (thank you to the people that organized and participated in that). Sweeping BYU in three games was the best senior present my team could have ever given me.

And if that wasn't enough excitement for one night, after the game I had the biggest surprise of my life. My boyfriend, Matt Doxtator, in front of all those people, got down on one knee and proposed to me on center court. He had planned the whole thing perfectly and all of his family, my family and my best friends (my team) were there to be a part of it. I couldn't ask for anything more.

Now we are in Las Vegas getting ready to play UNLV tonight. This is an important game for us if we are going to make it to the NCAA Tournament. We are looking to avenge the loss from earlier in the year, and push to move into third place in the MWC. If we play like we did against Utah and BYU, I know we can do it.

From the three seniors, thank you. Thank you to all you faithful fans that have come to Johnson Center week after week and supported us through our four years here. We will miss you greatly.

See you in the crowd next year (as Mrs. Doxtator),
