TUCSON, Ariz. - The University of New Mexico men's golf team came storming back in the final round and a half to win the 16-team Arizona Intercollegiate by two strokes. The Lobos shot the second best 18-hole total in school history in the third round with a 13-under par 271 on the par-71, 6,793 yard Arizona National Golf Course. UNM finished the tournament at 12-under par (289-280-271=840) two strokes better than conference rival BYU.

Individually the Lobos had three players finish in the top-10. Spencer Levin finished in second one stroke back at 10-under par. Levin shot rounds of 70, 67 and 66 to finish one stroke behind Arizona State's Alejandro Canizares who led wire to wire. Jay Choi finished tied for 7th at 3-under par (72-72-66) with a third round 5-under par 66. The final Lobo in the top-10 was Miguel Griego in ninth at 2-under par with rounds of 72, 70 and 69.

Other Lobo results were Mark Anderson tied for 25th at 4-over par (75-72-70), Charlie Beljan tied for 50th at 9-over par (77-71-74) and Jeb Gruenberger playing as an individual finished 84th at 29-over par.

New Mexico returns to action on Feb. 23-25 at the John Burns Intercollegiate in Honolulu, Hawaii.
