ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. --- Lobo women's basketball finished the shooting camp Wednesday and it's official camps are over! The shooting camp was a good opportunity for players to work on the fundamentals of the game and to focus on shooting with the proper form. Our coaches are all back from a long month of recruiting, and the camp gave them a nice break to get back to New Mexico and work with the campers. Amanda Best and Lauren Taylor stayed to work the camp.
I flew back home to Minnesota this past weekend and it has a very nice break. I have already been able to catch up with a lot of friends, and spend time with my family. My brother is coming home tomorrow and I can't wait to see him. He is in the Air Force, so I don't get to see him that often. I am looking forward to the time I have with him here at home! I am sure we will have many ping pong battles, cribbage games and whatever else we can find that is competitive. He has already been a trash talker, so I am prepared and motivated to beat him in anything!
I have talked to many of my teammates via facebook or texting and the common theme among many of them seems to be catching some sun and relaxing. It is not uncommon to see their facebook status say something like: swimsuit, tanning oil, ipod, towel, whew.... rough day. Being the renovation year of The Pit, we really want to sell out a game this year, so I figured we will play a game in our swimsuits and see if we can draw 16,000. I'll pick a day and let you all know! Spread the word! Haha!
That being said, our schedule was released earlier this week and it will be another very competitive season with many good teams coming to The Pit. We were in the top 10 in attendance again last year but number one in noise and support! This season's team in going to be fun to watch and extremely competitive. Let's move up the attendance latter this year and show the nation what Lobo basketball is all about.
