University of New Mexico Women's Basketball
Colorado State Rams vs. New Mexico Lobos
March 8, 2008 - Albuquerque, N.M.

University of New Mexico Head coach Don Flanagan:

"It was a good game for us I think for momentum. Colorado State you know they have had a rough year but I think they are capable of playing well and I think we took them out of there game in the first half on defense. Our defense was very good we held them to 13 points, about 17% shooting. I know how it feels I think we did that once this year. We played good defense, we didn't block out as well as would have liked us to, didn't run our offense as well as I would like us to. Sometimes you throw it into Dionne and she just jumps over somebody and that just makes it so easy that you keep on doing it. I thought she had a great game. For her to have that amount of pressure for her to be the leading scorer of all time that she did it in the first half. I told her she was going to do it in the first half, I was a little worried about scoring but it didn't seem to phase her one bit...We are trying to get a little transition against them and then run our offense well and I thought the transition was decent, our offense was ok. We shot a pretty decent percentage...defensively we have been pretty consistent throughout the year. I am happy to go into the tournament with this win."

Colorado State Head Coach Jen Warden:

"I think Coach Flanagan does a great job here. His seniors are second to none. I'm really pleased they had a nice senior day and a good celebration afterwards, and I hope they have a nice run in the post season. I think New Mexico did a great job and hit their shots early. I think Dionne Marsh had it the way she wanted it with her senior night. I am especially impressed the way she shot from the free throw line. This is a special night for them and I'm glad to see they can celebrate."
