UNM Head Coach Ritchie McKay
"I thought our guys did a nice job tonight of taking what the defense gave us. Thirty-five three-point attempts is an awful lot, its got to be close to a school record. We continue to read situations and defenses fairly well. The locker room was funny after the game, there wasn't that same sense of excitement. The reason for that was two fold. Number one our expectations have grown inside our family. Number two we didn't defend the same way we are used to defending, I am sure we will address that tomorrow during practice."
UNM Student Assistant Coach Senque Carey
On Nick Lewis's injury:
"My head went through some flashbacks. I felt bad for the guy. I wish him the best. I heard that he is doing all right, and he just has a headache, so that's the best thing."
UNM Jr. Forward Danny Granger
"I think we played all right, but our defensive intensity fell off a bit. We have to do better on the defensive end next game. Offensively, they were in a zone, so we had a lot of quick, open shots that we couldn't pass up, so that wasn't too hard. But our main focus tonight was our defense."
UNM Jr. Forward Alfred Neale
"Tonight, we weren't really focused in on making our shots, we were more worried about the defensive end and making stops. We knew we were going to get our shots. My shooting was just coming along within the flow of the game, I wasn't really thinking about it. I was just trying to get into my rhythm."
