Lobos Second after First Round of The Nelson Invitational

STANFORD, CALIF. - The University of New Mexico men's golf team is currently second after the first round at the 16-team Nelson Invitational in Stanford, Calif. The Lobos shot an opening round 277 on the 6,444-yard par-69 Stanford Golf Course. UNM trails Georgia State by two strokes.

Individually the Lobos are led by junior Spencer Levin. Levin is currently in the lead by two strokes after a first round 4-under par 65. Joining Levin in the top-five is senior Jay Reynolds, who is tied for fourth at 1-under par. Other Lobo individual results are sophomore Charlie Beljan tied for 21st at 2-over par, senior Miguel Griego is tied for 42nd at 4-over par and junior Jay Choi is tied for 61st at 6-over par.

The Nelson Invitational continues tomorrow with second round play beginning at 9:00 a.m. (MST).
