ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. --- The University of New Mexico volleyball team won eight straight sets to win the UNM Spring Invitational on Saturday. UNM is 6-1-1 during the 2010 Spring practice season.
"This was a good day," said Lobo head coach Jeff Nelson. "We were very good at times with some occasional inconsistencies. Our rhythm was good and some of our younger players got some good swings in today."
The Lobos beat Frank Phillips, UTEP, Northern Arizona and Texas Tech, 2-0 each to finish 4-0 on the day.
New Mexico will wrap up the Spring season with a road match at New Mexico State (April 10) and a home match against the Southwest All-Stars (April 21). The school year will wrap up with the fourth annual Grass Bash, a Lobo volleyball fundraiser, on May 1-2. Grass Bash registration is available on GoLobos.com.
