New Mexico Head Coach Don Flanagan
On the defensive effort by both teams
"In the first half we played good defense, but didn't shoot well. Our defense deteriorated in the second half. It's a little disturbing that we didn't play better for 40 minutes. They have a team that really works hard. They have a lot of young kids that are playing as hard as they can and I expected us to execute against them. They play a match-up zone which is unusual, and I thought they did a pretty good job with it. We were getting the shots we wanted, but at the same time we weren't hitting them. I'm a little discouraged with our defensive effort in the second half, and the fact that they actually out scored us the second half. I think we just took the lead and took a break."

On New Mexico's three-point shooting tonight
"I think we were three of 21 from the three-point line. That's the difference right there. All we had to do was hit a few more threes. Sometimes against a defense like theirs, you get a little three happy and we needed to hit those a little more often."

New Mexico sophomore guard Sara Halasz
On notching a double-double tonight
"We were focused early but we didn't keep up the intensity. I was able to get a couple of quick steals and easy baskets in transition. It felt good to get a double-double. It shows that hard work pays off, and I just have to keep on improving."

Air Force Head Coach Ardie McInelly
On tonight's loss at New Mexico
"We played a very good team. Don Flanagan is one of my favorite coaches, and I think he does a heck of a job. We were definitely undersized and are lacking experience. We're a young team and hopefully we'll get better. I know they played without one of their players [Lauren Taylor] and we played without our starting point guard, Anna Gault. She didn't make the trip due to an injury so we were kind of scrambling. It took us awhile, but I thought we did a much better job in the second half. I just give a lot of credit to New Mexico. They run a very classy program and [Coach Flanagan] is a very good man. He has a great coaching staff."

On playing in The Pit
"I think it's great and the fans love it. I think it's good for our players as well. I really appreciate the hospitality of the people here in New Mexico. I just know that next year, New Mexico will see a different team from us. We're hopefully going to be bigger and will continue to get better."
