LARAMIE, Wyo. - The New Mexico volleyball team fell to Wyoming in five games in the first match of the Mountain West Conference season Friday night, 22-30, 30-25, 30-27, 24-30, 14-16. The Lobos now stand at 6-5 on the season, while the Cowgirls improve to 6-5.

Junior Nicole Ryan put down a season-high 22 kills in the match. Senior Monica Meihack paced the offense with 51 assists and nine digs.

Senior Adah Burke recorded 32 digs in the match, which is third best all-time in a UNM match. Burke is first in the Mountain West Conference with 4.52 digs per game.

Three other Lobos tallied double-digit kills in the match. Freshman Samie Weber had 11 kills, while Kelly Therkelsen and Chelsea Sondrup had 10 kills.

The Lobo volleyball team returns to action Saturday, Sept. 25 vs. No. 9 Colorado State.
