New Mexico vs. Wyoming

New Mexico Head Coach Don Flanagan
On New Mexico's shooting and rebounding:
"Shooting was much improved, obviously. We shot 50 percent from the 3-point line. Rebounding was a factor. Outrebounding them by five on the boards was important because it gave us more possessions. They're difficult to defend, because they shoot the ball so well and they have five players who shoot the ball. You have to be able to defend the perimeter, and I thought we did a pretty good job with that. They are a very confident team, and I thought it was a good victory for us."

On Mountain West Conference play:
"It looks like there are some losses in conference, and I think everybody now has a loss. I figured it was going to be a tough fight, because we had so many teams that are so close to one another. So you've got to win games at home and this was a good one for us to win. It's most important that you win, but you want to play well and win. I thought we did that today."

New Mexico junior guard Amanda Best
On New Mexico's confidence in today's game:
"I think we really played well together today. We'd had a lack in confidence during the last road trip, especially at Utah in the second half. Today, I think a lot of people took it upon themselves to step up and hit shots."

New Mexico junior forward Jessica Kielpinski
On hitting her shots today:
"It's a confidence booster when you're hitting your shots. It just builds up your confidence, and you're not afraid or hesitant to shoot your next one. It allows your game to move more freely."

Wyoming Head Coach Joe Legerski
On today's loss at New Mexico:
"New Mexico had great energy from the start. And when you have the ability to get off to a great start, as they did, and get the crowd completely into the basketball game, it makes it very difficult for the visiting team. The three that Kielpinski hit right before the half was a big one. We talked about coming out in the first eight minutes [of the second half] and making sure we could keep in contact with New Mexico. If they were able to separate again in the second half as they did in the first half, it was going to be too big of a hill to climb back into the game. That's exactly what happened. I thought New Mexico played extremely well today and we have to match that intensity."

On the The Pit's atmosphere today:
"I think the crowd is a factor in all the games. In the Mountain West Conference, it's difficult to win on the road. I know our crowd back in Laramie is a big factor in keeping the energy level high. I think that the New Mexico fan base is tremendous, and they really come to the game to participate."
