ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - New Mexico women's soccer head coach Kit Vela recently signed Shannon Adragna (Albuquerque, N.M.) to a National Letter of Intent to join the Lobos next fall. Adragna brings the signing class to six players for next season, joining Jordan Johnson (Tulsa, Okla.), Anna Neu (Nehawka, Neb.), Katelyn Ley (Marine, Minn.), and Albuquerque natives Terryn Granados and Amber Wetsch, who each signed NLI's over the winter.

HIGH SCHOOL: Four-year letterwinner and varsity team captain ... First team all-district honoree and all-state honorable mention in 2002 ... second team all-metro member in 2002 and second team all-district in 2003 ... nominated to Young Leaders Conference in 2003 ... an honor roll student all four year of school ... had 132 saves and allowed just 32 goals scored on her in 2,170 minutes played during career ... led Sandia High School to a 69-13 mark in four years, including the district and state championships in the fall of 2000 ... guided the team to a fourth place finish in the state her senior year.
PERSONAL: Born Shannon Amanda Adragna on July 30, 1986 to Frank and Marilyn ... has one sister, Heather (22) and one brother, Ryan (13) ... enjoys playing sports, ceramincs and cooking ... favorite food is spaghetti ... claims her greatest thrill while playing sports was winning the state championships as a freshman at Sandia ... favorite athlete is famed Baltimore Colts quarterback Johnny Unitas ... plans to major in chemistry.
