The web-only purchase option is a first-time event for Lobo basketball tickets, and it's the only chance for fans to get single-game tickets before Monday.
On Friday, students got the chance to pick up seats for the first four men's basketball games, and head coach Steve Alford and the men's basketball staff was on hand to greet the students and thank them for their support.
Fans coming directly to the Pit do have an added incentive in that they can check out the all-new Lobo Den, Powered by Your UNM Bookstores! All this week fans can visit the Lobo Den and register to win signed autographed basketballs from Steve Alford and women's head coach Don Flanagan.
Monday also doubles as the official open house and ribbon cutting for the Pit. Fans will get a chance to watch the men's team practice, with students allowed into the Pit at 2:30, and the general public starting at 3:30. After practice concludes at 4:30 p.m., the court will set for the official ribbon cutting, which will include many dignitaries and VIPs including New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson.
Prior to the 5 p.m. ribbon cutting ceremony, fans will get a chance to check out the new video boards installed on either end of the arena as the public debut of "The Pit: Re-Birth of a Legend" will broadcast on the boards. The DVD, which will be on sale at the Lobo Den for $12.95, is a historical look back at the nation's loudest basketball arena, from it's inception through the renovation process. Fans can order their copy of "The Pit: Re-Birth of a Legend" by going to loboden.unm.edu.
After the ceremony, fans are invited to check out the public areas of the Pit, including the new concessions areas, and the new interactive fan features, including all of the new graphics in the building, all designed to inform and enhance the Lobo basketball experience.
