Carlson, Herrera Honored On MWC All-Tournament Team

LAS VEGAS - Juniors Chris Carlson and Danny Ray Herrera were named to the Mountain West Conference All-Tournament team for their performance at the MWC Championship last week in Las Vegas.

Carlson, a designated hitter, hit a team-high .667 (12-for-18) with eight runs scored and 11 RBI. He also had two home runs and three doubles. Carlson tied the MWC Championship record for most RBI in a single game with seven in the Lobos first game vs. UNLV, going 5-for-6 with seven RBI and four runs scored.

Junior Danny Ray Herrera struck out seven in 7 innings en route to his 10th win of the season.

Herrera, one of three pitchers, two of which were left-handed, produced a team-low 1.29 ERA, allowing just one run, five hits and a walk with seven strikeouts in 7 innings vs. UNLV on May 23. Herrera was relieved after seven with the Lobos ahead 9-1.
