ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. ---University of New Mexico women's volleyball player Amy Wong is The Lobo Great Eight for this week. Wong, a junior from Arizona, is a key back row player for the Lobos this year. Her sophomore season was extremely successful, gaining many achievements. Wong was named Mountain West Conference Scholar-Athlete, Academic All-MWC and she was a nominee for CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-American.


What are your hobbies?

I really enjoy knitting, shooting and reading.

If you did not play volleyball what sport would you play?


If you could have dinner with anyone, who would it be?

Channing Tatum

What was your first car?

Sparkle, my silver Honda Civic.

Do you have any pre-game rituals?

In the hallway before we run out I say to Lisa Meeter, "Lets go win a national championship!"

Do you have any cooking specialties?

Making one amazing grilled cheese.

Why did you choose New Mexico?

Because of the coaching staff and it is close to home.

Red or Green Chile?

Neither! I do not like spicy food.
