FRESNO, Calif. - The New Mexico volleyball team fell to Fresno State in three games (30-20, 30-22, 30-11) in the season opener Friday night (Aug. 29) at the Fresno State Invitational. Anna Reines (Sr., Big Lake, Minn.) led the Lobos with 13 kills and hit .320 match. Freshman Lisa Dick (Gresham, Ore.) contributed a team-high five digs in her Lobo debut and Monica Meihack (Jr., Fallon, Nev.) added 14 assists.
The Bulldogs used a balanced offensive attack to shut down UNM, hitting .479 as a team to the Lobos' .130 attack percentage. Kristen Fenton paced FSU with 13 kills while Robyn Keune collected 34 assists.
New Mexico returns to action for day two of the Fresno State Invitational tomorrow (Saturday, Aug. 30). The Lobos will face Cal Poly at noon and Idaho State at 5 p.m.
