Oklahoma City, Okla. - After strong outings at the 2004 NCAA Diving Zone meet, junior Becca Barras moves on to the NCAA Championships in College Station, Texas, March 18-20.

The Lobo diver was not scheduled to compete on the platform today at the Zone meet as she had only qualified during the regular season to compete on the 1-meter and 3-meter springboards. Barras and diving coach Carlos Castillo waited out the final day of platform events to confirm she qualified for the championships.

"We had to wait for the tower (platform) to finish to know for sure if Becca was one of the qualifiers," Castillo said.

Barras who was named MWC Diver of the Week twice during the regular season and captured two first place finishes at the MWC championships will be the only Lobo to represent the UNM women's swimming and diving team at the NCAA meet.
