New Mexico head coach Don Flanagan:

Opening Statement:
"Texas Tech has a lot of athleticism and quickness that bothered us for a while, late and early. We overcame it most of the second half and ran some stuff that they hadn't really seen, some screening and getting the ball inside, and that was new to them. They were kind of surprised from that and didn't have an answer for that. We got good production from everybody, got everybody in the game."

"We did get off to a good run and then all of a sudden we let them back in it. I think that is when I switched into the zone defense just to slow them up. You can't give a team like that confidence because they have a lot of athletic kids."

On Amy Beggin:
"Amy had a terrific game. It is very unusual that she didn't have an assist, but that is because she didn't have the ball in her hands. Really, she can play a two guard very effectively. We don't use her there, but before the season is over, we will use her at the two because she can shoot the 3 so well and she creates so many problems from that position."

On Amanda Adamson:
"She is my idol. I didn't realize she had 20 rebounds. She got to the ball up. I thought it was probably her best game and she is getting tougher and tougher. The first half they couldn't guard her. If she would have finished a few more of those drives, she could have had a big, big night offensively. She is difficult. She gets down low and she can drive right or left which makes her more effective. She did have a special night. That is the best rebounding we have had in a while."

Senior Amanda Adamson:

On career-high 20 rebounds:
"I was where the ball was going. It happened to be my game for rebounding and I'm glad because it was a huge win for us. We're all really excited. Honestly, I just think we were boxing out really well and the ball was there, it was open. I don't know if they were all rebounds in traffic, but I think a lot of them were on free throws. We just boxed out."

Senior Angela Hartill:

On improved second half performance:
"I think it just started to fall. Everyone on the team started to get more relaxed and just like Amy (Beggin) said, we knew the shots would fall eventually and we just knew we had to keep shooting. So we did and that's what happened."

Junior Amy Beggin:

On being considered a rebuilding year for the team:
"I think every time we put on that New Mexico uniform we expect to win. I mean none of us, going into this year, thought it was a rebuilding year. We've worked probably harder that we've ever worked in the off season just to get better. We have that confidence (when) we play in front of our home crowd. It's the best fans in the nation and they just give us that energy. Nobody ever told us it was a rebuilding year. Nobody told us that we weren't supposed to win, so we go out every game and expect to win."
