Women's Basketball Signs Final Recruit for Fall 2004

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The University of New Mexico women's basketball program announced today that one more prospective student-athletes will be enrolling at the University of New Mexico in the fall of 2004. The final signed letter of intent was received from Morgan Saso (Bakersfield, Calif./Bakersfield North HF). She joins Dionne Marsh (Flower Mound, Texas/Flower Mound HS), Lindsay Black (Littleton, Colo./Dakota Ridge HS) and Brandi Kimble (Stevenson Ranch, Calif./Lynwood HS) as the class of 2008.

Morgan Saso, a 6-3 post player from Bakersfield, California joins the Lobos from Bakersfield North High School. Saso was a member of the 2002 Valley Championship team. She averaged 12 points, 11 rebounds and three block shots a game last season. Saso also set the school record in field goal percentage shooting 65 percent from the field.

Head Coach Don Flanagan on Morgan Saso, "Morgan comes from a good program and posses good size and strength. She has decent range and an outstanding work ethic. She is also the daughter of a football coach, so her work ethic has carried over into the weight room, which should help her prepare for the physical play of college basketball."
