ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The New Mexico volleyball team extended its winning streak to eight in the Comcast Lobo Invitational with a five-game victory over Montana (0-2) in the second session of the tournament Saturday afternoon. The Lobos, down two games to none, rallied back to defeat the Grizzlies 25-30, 27-30, 30-24, 30-16, 15-11. UNM is now 2-0 in the tournament and can claim its third straight Comcast Lobo Invitational title with a win over Creighton at 7:30 p.m. tonight at the Johnson Center. Four Lobos racked up double figures in kills, including Kelly Therkelsen, who led the team with 12. Nicole Ryan and Samie Weber each had 11 and Jennifer Heasty collected 10. Freshman libero Kim Cox tallied a team-high 17 digs, while Monica Meihack led the team with 51 assists. After falling in the first two games, the Lobos took game three 30-24 before crushing the Grizzlies in game four, 30-16. UNM controlled the fifth and decisive game with a 15-11 win.
