Oct. 24, 2006
- Wow, I can't believe it is the end of October already! We have been so busy and working so hard. Our practices have officially started and are going really well. It is nice to be able to practice for two and a half straight hours, to learn everything new, get the system down, and learn to work with everyone on the team. I am having a blast playing with everyone and playing for our coaching staff. All the returners have taken all of us freshmen under their wings and really helped us learn what being a Lobo is all about- except for that 40 point blowout last Saturday. Haha! They showed us who's boss!
Seriously, all the upperclassman have made my transistion from high school to the division one college level so much easier! They are always there to talk to, point things out, push us and to make us laugh when we need it! They are phenomenal and I really feel honored to be able to play with them!
So far, I am loving New Mexico! When I first committed, everyone back home was like "New Mexico?" But I have never had any regrets and they are all starting to realize what a special place this is! Not every person can say they play for a top 25 program, a legendary coach and play in front of 10,000 fans every single day! I have also tried to take advantage of New Mexico off the court! Coach Sanchez took Eileen, Christian and I to the balloon fiesta last week! We had so much fun. It was spectacular to see the balloons on the ground, then blown up, and taking off. We didn't want to leave.
But back to the court, our first game is creeping up really fast on Nov. 1! We all cannot wait! We are looking forward to a very successful season! Be sure to catch our scrimmage this Saturday at 5pm! It will be your last chance to see us in action before the first game!
