ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. --- University of New Mexico women's basketball coach Don Flanagan has announced that Indiana guard Lauren Taylor signed a National Letter of Intent Wednesday. Taylor, a 5-11 guard from Brownsburg, Ind., averaged 19.5 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game during her junior season.

"We are very pleased to welcome Lauren Taylor to the Lobos program," said Flanagan. "She is a player that we feel can be a major asset due to her shooting ability. I think she can step in and shoot at the college level right away."

Taylor, who is listed as one of the top players in the state of Indiana in 2007-08 by several publications, committed to New Mexico. She has received numerous honors during her career. She was a 2007 Indiana Junior All-Star and was named to the Hoosier Crossroads all-conference team.

Taylor, who attended Lobo basketball camp this summer, is a true student-athlete at Brownsburg High School and boasts a 4.35 grade point average.
