ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The University of New Mexico women's basketball team will travel across the country to Hartford, Conn., to take on the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, Sunday in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The Lobos are 24-8 on the season, while the Phoenix are 28-3 overall. Tip-off Sunday is schedule for 5:00 PM (MST) and can be seen on ESPN2 or heard on 610 The Sports Animal.

TONIGHT'S GAME: Tonight's game features the Lobos of the University of New Mexico as they travel to Hartford, Conn., to play the Phoenix of the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament.

SCOUTING THE LOBOS: New Mexico is 24-8 this season and 11-5 in the MWC. UNM advanced to the NCAA Tournament with the automatic bid as MWC Tournament Champions. The Lobos have victories over Florida Atlantic (74-44), No. 25 Texas (63-60), Georgia Southern (64-43), Siena (78-39), New Mexico State (81-47 and 65-45), at Arizona (76-63), Sam Houston State (77-41), UCLA (72-63), Northern Arizona (62-51), Colorado State twice (73-42, 77-66), Air Force twice (60-46, 57-47), UNLV twice (77-56, 80-52), San Diego State twice (76-46, 67-48), Wyoming twice (50-43, 65-53), Utah (73-65), BYU twice (80-75 OT, 63-49) and TCU (75-54) and losses to No. 12/13 Arizona State (67-49), Nebraska (66-59), No. 7/8 Oklahoma (80-58), Wyoming (54-51), Utah (49-48), BYU (63-59), TCU (67-43) and UNLV (70-59). UNM is led in scoring by senior Julie Briody at 15.6 ppg and rebounding by junior Dionne Marsh at 6.4 rpg. Leading the Lobos in assists is senior Katie Montgomery at 3.7 apg.

SCOUTING THE PHOENIX: The No. 21/22 University of Wisconsin-Green Bay is 28-3 overall and 16-0 in the Horizon League and has the second longest winning streak in Division I at 25 games. UWGB advanced to the NCAA Tournament with the automatic bid as the Horizon League Tournament champions. The Phoenix have victories over Oakland (90-68), Minnesota (75-66), Northern Arizona (75-64), Iowa (67-43), Indiana State (84-66), Wisconsin (70-66), Chicago State (68-48), Illinois State (92-64), UIC twice (59-47, 58-45), Loyola twice (87-71, 78-60), Detroit three times (86-70, 88-60, 81-58), North Dakota State (77-51), UW-Milwaukee three times (85-70, 72-63, 84-79 OT), Cleveland State twice (82-39, 69-66), Youngstown State twice (83-49, 74-62), Butler three times (81-64, 84-70, 91-64) and Wright State twice (67-53, 73-42) and losses to Kansas State (72-67), Marquette (67-63) and DePaul (71-70). UWGB is led in scoring and rebounding by Nicole Soulis at 16.8 ppg and 5.8 rpg. Leading them in assists is Natalie Berglin at 4.5 apg.

THE COACHES: UNM is led by head coach Don Flanagan who is in his 12th season at New Mexico. Flanagan is 263-112 at UNM. The head coach of Wisconsin-Green Bay is Kevin Borseth who is in his ninth season at UWGB and 20th overall. Borseth has a 215-61 record with the Phoenix and 440-158 overall.

THE SERIES WITH UWGB: This will be the first meeting between New Mexico and Wisconsin-Green Bay. The Lobos have played three teams from the Horizon League in its history and are 3-0 with wins over Cleveland State, Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Youngstown State.
