ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. --- The University of New Mexico men's tennis team travels to Boise, Idaho, Saturday for the Mountain Regional Championship. The 54th-ranked Lobos will battle No. 67 Utah at noon.

The Lobos hold the slight 26-22 lead over the Utes in the series that began in 1965. The Lobos took a 5-2 victory when the two programs met last year in San Diego.

The day kicks off with the other semifinal match, which is between No. 22 Boise State and No. 70 UNLV at 9 a.m.

The winners of the two matches will compete for the Mountain Regional Championship at 6 p.m. on Saturday. The Champion qualifies for the National Team Indoor Championship, which will be held Feb. 15-18 in Seattle at the University of Washington. Boise State won the fall Mountain Regional (Oct. 17-21) and the Lobos came in a close second.

The Broncos have won the last three matches against the Lobos and have a 9-5 series lead. UNLV broke a five game Lobo winning streak last season with a 4-3 victory in Fort Worth. The Lobos lead the series 14-9.

Boise State travels to Albuquerque on Jan. 25 for the Lobos' home opener. UNM hosts Utah on Apr. 4 in the MWC opener. The Lobos will meet up with UNLV in Provo, Utah on Apr. 10.
