SENIOR STRONG TACKLE Jason Lenzmeier
Question: What is going through your head right now since you had to sit out and watch with your injury?
Jason Lenzmeier: "I'm just ready to get out there. I had to sit out for three weeks and having to watch my teammates go out and play is driving me crazy. I just can't wait to get out there."
Q: How good is the timing of your return? You had the bye week and now are coming back to conference play.
JL: "Oh yeah, it worked out pretty good. If I had to get injured, it worked out pretty well. I got the bye week there and got the chance to get out there, run around and hit some people. I feel good and I'm ready to get out there."
Q: How much of a difference do you think your leadership and experience can add as far the line is concerned?
JL: "I don't know. I don't know how much I am going to change what we have been doing but I just want to go out there. We need to establish the run, really run the football like we have in the past. I am just excited to get out there and play with my teammates again."
Q: After sitting out with your injury, are you anxious to go out there and make a pancake?
JL: "Geez, yeah. I can't wait. The first one, I'm going to have a big old smile on my face, I guarantee it. Playing football, that's what I'm here to do and these last three weeks I haven't been able to, so I just can't wait to get out there."
Q: What concerns you about San Diego State?
JL: "Their defense is really good. We are going to have to go out there and play really well. They are really fast and they are one of the top defenses in the country right now. That's a challenge to our offense."
Q: Back to your injury, how are you feeling?
JL: "I'm pretty close to 100 percent. During the season I don't think you are ever at 100 percent as an offensive lineman, so I don't think I'm very far behind. You always have things that bother you."
Q: The original line is back now after the injuries, not only to you but Calvin McDonald. Are you guys excited about that?
JL: "Last year we had a great season and were together the whole time because no one got hurt. Now that we have had some injuries this year, we just have to deal with them and move on. Now that we are all back we are hoping to make a run at the conference championship."
